There was a lot to discover on the maiden voyage of Hapag-Lloyd’s “nature”. Both in the wilderness of the North Sea and in the cabins. Together with the artist Jonas Kötz, we developed the “Reisebegleiter” (travel companion), a painted wooden figure, numbered and hand-signed by the artist himself. It made the event unforgettable in every sense of the word – we lasered the travel dates directly onto the wood. In keeping with the maritime theme, the gift packaging was cut from a rustic jute fabric. Logo and typography were screen-printed. Rumour has it that it’s made of real sailor’s yarn.
